Monthly Update
Wow, I haven't posted in a month. Lots going on since my last dismal post.
We hired, and fired, a cleaning service. We tried a local cleaning service for an every-two-weeks cleaning. The first cleaning was supposed to be a "deep cleaning" to get us ready for maintenance. Crappy cleaning. Very disappointing. Michael fired them. When we called to complain to request another "deep cleaning" session, the owner insinuated that my house was not habitable. So fired! I am back to cleaning it myself, but at least I tried!
We got a new fridge--on the cheap! We do not need a big refrigerator, so we were able to bypass the $2K models. We found a nice Whirpool, black, side-by-side at Lowe's--and it was the display model (more discounts)! We were so relieved to replace our crappy old fridge with a shiny new model that did not brake our bank account.
Michael is in the process of painting the boys' lofts, and hopefully their room will be ready to go by the weekend. We are both sick of living in a construction zone!
Work has been super busy. Since my last post, I have had two trips--New Orleans and Knoxville. I don't travel again for another 2 weeks, and I am really enjoying the at-home time.
I am 8 pounds from my goal weight. Unfortunately, we could not get enough people at my company to sign up for the Weight Watchers at Work program, so I am going to have to pay full price for my weight loss until I make Lifetime at Weight Watchers. Fortunately, I have started running again and I am up to 3 miles a day, four times a week. I love my 5am runs. They really seem to clear my head...and melt away the pounds.
And one last piece of big news...Michael got a promotion a few weeks ago! A really big promotion. It has been in the works for over a year now, and I am so proud of both his patience and persistance in getting the job he really wanted. I am a big believer that you have to aggressively pursue your goals--no sitting and waiting on gifts! Hooray for Michael!
